Ask questions, get advice, learn from the experts, and feel confident about your higher education goals. Chat sessions are scheduled the first Friday of every month from 10AM to Noon via Microsoft Teams. Everyone is invited!

Apr. 14: This Higher Education First Friday Chat features Grand Canyon University.



Mar. 3: In March, the Higher Education team spoke with SRPMIC Vocational Rehabilitation about Community employment options.  Paula Thomas-Smith, the lead counselor at  VocRehab, and Sophia Thomas, the lead career counselor at VocRehab, discuss eligibility requirements, career guidance, and more. Click here to learn more.


Feb. 3: In this month's First Friday Chat we hear from
Cassandra Scott, the director of Tohono O’odham Community College (Phoenix Center). Visit TOCC.EDU for more information about this wonderful institution.



Jan. 6: In this month's First Friday Chat, STEP Up tutor Natalie Luna gives valuable study tips, and Higher Education Advisor Joyla Gates provides an overview of the Arizona College Open House event. Finally, SRPMIC Career Services Coordinator Seneca Peters checks in with updates from the Community's employment department.


Dec. 2: The Higher Education team was joined by Ken Hackler from Mesa Community College and Chicanos por la Cuasa Workforce Solutions. Nov. 4: The Higher Education team was joined by Angela Willeford with the SRPMIC Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs; discussion included information about the midterm elections and the Community's Get Out the Vote efforts. #SkoVoteDen




Oct. 7: 
Discussion included the SRPMIC Internship Program, including who's eligible, how to apply, and where you can intern. Crystal Banuelos, SRPMIC Assistant HR Director, presented this wonderful information. 




Sept. 2: Discussion topics include SRPMIC Community Housing Project/Survey and voter registration efforts. Find time stamps in our YouTube video description.
